Children's Ministry

The Children’s Ministry nurtures the spiritual growth of our children, guided by Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

History

The ministry began in 1974 as the Sunbeams Class, with Deacon Angelique A. Jones as first coordinator. As the church outgrew its building and children found adult sermons hard to follow, a children’s church was created in December 1980, and children’s worship services began in March 1981 with Rev. Momolu S. Freeman as first pastor.

Faithful coordinators and pastors over the years include Mrs. Danitta Tonia Gbatu, Sis. Lucy S. Wisner, Ella D.L. Cole, Sis. Patient Suah, Rev. Joseph M. Vannie, Bro. Charles B. Wiah, Sis. Elizabeth Dogbe, Sis. Jarsa Reeves Peabody, Sis. Winifred Bunch Allen, Sis. Sadea Hoff Tarpeh, Clara A. Morris and Bro. Bill K. Jones.
