Welcome to Effort Baptist Church, a sanctuary of love, hope and refuge for all who are seeking solace in the midst of life’s storms.
Here we come together as a community of faith, bound by the unbreakable bonds of God’s love, to lift each other up and extend a helping hand to those in need.
I am humbled and honoured to guide this flock with the teachings of Christ as our compass. Together we navigate the challenges of life, finding comfort and courage in the promises of our Heavenly Father. Our church is not just a building; it is a house of refuge for the victims of the land.

Founded in faith in 1875
In 1875 a group of seventeen immigrants from the United States, led by Rev. Moore T. Worrell, settled in Paynesville. In gratitude for God’s unmerited blessings, they founded what is today Effort Baptist Church, most likely named to honour their unity and concerted effort as a group.
