Welcome to the Children’s Ministry
The Children’s Ministry focuses on nurturing the spiritual development of children, guided by Proverbs 22:6, which encourages training children in the way they should grow.
The Ministry was first organized at Effort in 1974 as the Sunbeams Class, with Deacon Angelique A. Jones serving as the first Coordinator. By 1980, the Church’s membership had outgrown the seating capacity of its building. Additionally, the difficulty children faced in understanding the language used by preachers and speakers in adult services led to the creation of a children’s church in December 1980. Worship services for children began in March 1981, with Rev. Momolu S. Freeman (then a Licentiate) serving as the first Pastor. A committee, including Emmanuel S. Cooper, Trokon N. Flahn, Jr., and secretaries from all Sunday school classes, organized the details for the Ministry’s official launch. The Ministry experienced its first loss with the passing of little Tebell Dillon in 1986.
