The ushers perform a number of duties in the Church. They read Sunday announcements, provide relevant information to the Pastor, escort worshippers to their seats, share Sunday bulletins and help maintain order during the service. The usher ministry is credited for the church appreciation service once held in honor of the pastorate initiated during the tenure of Bro. John Alphanso D. Perkins as President.  Also during the administration of Bro. Perkins in 1998 the ushers Ministry held a program in honor of all those who faithfully served the church as ushers (more than 30) and were not able to perform either for reason of distance away from home, ill-health, or membership in other church organizations, or relocation on account of marriage.

The Usher Ministry is as old as the Church is. However, it was reorganized in May 1975 by then Pastor, Revd. Dr. Bradley D. Brown. Five persons comprised the first membership that started performing on Sunday, June 1, 1975 (Sis. Angelique A. Jones, Sis. Louise A. Nelson, Sis. Camel Smallwood,  Bro. Maesa D. Nelson, Jr. and Bro. J. Alphanso D. Perkins). Its first corps of leadership comprised Angelique A. Jones (President), Yvonne K. Reeves (Secretary), J. Alphanso D. Perkins (Assistant Secretary). The Ministry’s first meeting outside the church edifice took place on September 14, 1977 at the home of Sis. Lulu V. Marshall.  Later Sis. Louise Nelson and Bro.& Sis. G. Bismarck Reeves hosted our meetings before we returned to the church edifice as its permanent meeting venue.

The ushers had as part of her annual calendar of activities holding of ‘Good Friday Service’ before it was taken over by the W.M.U and now the Church itself. Currently the Usher Ministry is in charge of Easter Breakfast Sales. The incumbent President is Sis. Millie Minor Williams.
